BACK PAIN 2015 London

21/10/2015

National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO)

NICE guidelines for the treatment of low back pain include a course of acupuncture.

In response to the guidelines the BMAS is offering this course for acupuncturists focussing on the assessment, treatment and management of back pain. A 1 day course consisting of lectures, demonstrations and practical sessions.

The Back Pain day focuses primarily on the NHS perspective to the assessment and management of patients with low back pain, and the role of acupuncture. Issues concerning the provision of services with the NHS and demand management in a service that is free at the point of access will naturally be a prevalent theme of discussion. The practical elements of the course involve one session on rapid assessment of low back pain, and this is mainly aimed at practitioners who are not already experts in musculoskeletal assessment, as well as one session devoted to needling of the back and posterior hip girdle.

Includes:  Course notes, lunch and refreshments.

This is a practical course and proof of Hepatitis B immunisation with antibody levels is required.  Please contact the office tel: 01606 786782 if you have any questions regarding this.

If you work in the private sector, and you are principally interested in practicing needling techniques, then this may not be the best course for you.  BMAS offers a Lumbogluteal day of the Points practical series that will provide more practical needling.
