Practical Points days are face-to-face short courses that focus on enhancing practical skills with particular reference to knowledge and understanding of Western medical acupuncture in the treatment of specific clinical conditions.

During these intensive, experiential sessions, delegates will have the opportunity to question and discuss treatment plans with peers and more experienced colleagues and to use the supplied portfolio workbook pages as a means to record any need for further study that emerges from that practical focus.

These days cover the core skills training for the Diploma of Medical Acupuncture (DipMedAc). All courses are suitable for any health professional who has attended a Foundation Course in acupuncture either with the BMAS or another suitable provider of training in Western medical acupuncture within the past three years. Details of prior training are required.

The BMAS Points Practical series, is complemented by a series of Musculoskeletal days. The MSK assessment days are designed for those who want to refresh their practical surface anatomy and MSK assessment, and include Mike's approach to rapid assessment screening designed for short consultations in primary care, as well as more specialist assessment techniques. Each day covers the general principles of assessment; practical, hands-on assessment for the indicated region of the body; and relevant needling techniques. Check out the dates for these courses too.

This is a practical course and is subject to proof of Hepatitis B immunisation showing antibody level or results of a recent blood screen for Hep B surface antigens (details will be provided).  You are also required to be registered with a relevant regulatory body (or BAcC member), BMAS trained and/or currently using medical acupuncture.   Should you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact the Northwich office on 01606 786782.
